About Manjit Kaur Ruprai

Picture
My name is Manjit, I am a qualified and experienced EMDR Therapist, Counsellor, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Reiki Practitioner, specialising in the recovery from narcissistic abuse.

I first came across narcissistic abuse after speaking to a friend who is also a counsellor. She mentioned narcissism and co-dependency to me and it was then that I started researching into it and came to the realisation that I had been a victim of narcissistic abuse for most of my life. I also realised that I am a co-dependent which meant that I had to learn a whole new set of boundaries that I had previously never had. It was a massive shock that I had been a victim of narcissistic abuse, but it also helped to answer a lot of my questions and give me the validation that I needed. This took me on my healing journey and what I needed to do to recover from the devastating effects of narcissist abuse. On my journey I have learnt a lot of things about myself.

I now work with clients to help them to understand what they have been through and the types of abuse they have experienced. There are many that struggle to accept what they have been through and are left confused, traumatised, shattered, alienated and with ongoing health problems and mental health difficulties.

My personal experience of narcissistic abuse has given me knowledge and insight to help other victims and to show understanding and compassion to those impacted. My own experiences have helped me to work with clients in a non-judgmental, empathetic and supportive manner in order to help them in their healing and recovery. I am passionate about the work that I do and it is satisfying to see individuals experience a shift in their emotions and restart their lives. Every client that I work with has a different experience of narcissistic abuse so I tailor all of my sessions according to their needs.

Previously I have worked in homelessness, a refuge for women and children, a domestic violence helpline, a rape and abuse crisis centre and with individuals that have mental health difficulties in the education sector as well as in the community.

Having worked with many impacted by narcissistic abuse over the years; I use an integrative therapeutic approach, which enables me to create a tailor made plan for each client, as no experience of narcissistic abuse is the same.

It was while researching for an assignment about domestic abuse whilst in my training I had my “light bulb” moment and came across the term narcissistic abuse learning of my own exposure to both overt and covert narcissistic abuse from a very early age into adulthood, which was not only a revelation but also very traumatising, I had never seen myself as a victim and it left me feeling devastated as I came to the realisation I had been an abuse victim my entire life yet totally unaware of it and although it had left me feeling broken it also provided me with the insight and knowledge on what I needed to do to heal from the debilitating effects of narcissistic abuse.

I help those in recovery from the effects of this insidious type of abuse. Many victims are left feeling emotionally exhausted, confused, trying to make sense of their experiences. Many victims suffer from mental health problems or psychosomatic illnesses some find themselves feeling alienated or isolated from society or feel a profound sense of hopelessness. My personal life experience’s and learned knowledge of narcissism/narcissistic abuse provides me with the skills, insight and real understanding of the issues, challenges and aftermath of narcissistic abuse faced by those impacted.

I provide an empathic, non-judgemental and supportive environment to help you in your recovery process; bringing a unique blend of psycho-education on narcissism/narcissistic abuse, professional experience, and insight gained from my own personal experience of narcissistic abuse. About Pimmi Pande

Picture
I have been coaching people for around 7 years in how to live more fulfilling, authentic and self-determined lives while achieving their personal goals. I work internationally exclusively online via video conferencing apps.

I came to this field after discovering a knack for identifying other people’s natural strengths and being able to motivate them toward a better future. After I started my own process of psychotherapy to deal with the trauma of a narcissistic upbringing, I realised I empathised and identified with this client group even more. I know what it’s like to not be living your own life, to feel like you are not living life to its fullest potential and to be fearful of walking into a pattern of abuse. I also know the other side, too: to take control of my life, to enjoy fulfilling my potential and be working towards others - and to discover healthy love with a non-narcissistic partner.

As a Life Coach, I am very experienced in working with people who are looking to make a change in life or a complete new start. That might be due to walking away from an abusive relationship in their recent or long term past, but perhaps they are still self-sabotaging due to the learnt pattern of low self esteem they brought with them from that relationship or upbringing. Even after we have healed and are self aware, our inner critic can be keeping us from the success we deserve.

A client would normally see me after having done some work on themselves through psychotherapy or alternative holistic therapies. Together, we work out a personal plan, based on their needs, wants, capabilities and resources, that for whatever reason they have not yet achieved or have had to side-line. These could be from lifestyle ideals to career and business objectives; perhaps re-establishing family connections or launching personal development projects. I take into consideration what may have held them back until now – if it was a controlling relationship that they have left, this might mean simultaneous self-esteem or anxiety reducing exercises are necessary: I find mindfulness techniques really help. I look for the best way to help my clients move forward in a comfortable way that brings them greater satisfaction and wellbeing; no two clients are the same, naturally.

Essentially the work I do is a dialoguing process where we work out what they want from each session in the context of their life coaching plan and the best way for me to motivate them, so the emphasis is very much on progression. That might also mean I push useful ideas their way or motivational messages and affirmations outside of session.
Having left a lengthy relationship with a narcissistic partner myself, I really understand how it feels to be immobilised even when you are keen to move onwards – it can deliver feelings of liberation but also confusion and fear. It’s at this stage for a client, after some healing from their abuse, that my work can be really effective in helping them get their lives back on track.

But what keeps me inspired is that the process is very growth stimulating: for both my client and myself, and particularly beneficial to people who have been hijacked by their inner critic most of their lives. It’s incredibly powerful seeing someone like that moving onwards and achieving their goals.
